We are moving right along! Jack’s room is coming together pretty nicely. We’ve updated the electrical, tore down walls, put up new walls and installed the flooring. We still have to finish a few projects like painting the knee walls, ceiling and adding trimwork. Patching a hole, painting the shelving, and sealing the floors. Then there’s removing the remaining paneling and finishing his master lego building area. But. It’s coming along and I can’t wait to share the final shots!
That flooring is probably my favorite part. We called Home Depot and asked them to cut 3/4 inch plywood into 12 inch strips. Mike sanded all the edges before laying it down and we plan on giving it a matte finish but leaving the rustic color. This is the PERFECT flooring for a 6 year old boy. 6 year old boys are messy.
That back wall is chalkboard and we have a project in mind for between the sconces. I also have some ideas on how to keep this area more organized.
The shelves will house most of his legos. He has a lot. And I am hoping for a lego project table to go in the center of this space.
Here’s a shot of the space before. Jack helped knock those walls down himself. We found out recently our new house has not had children living here since at least the 70’s. We’re excited to breath some new life into this old space.
